This Nando's is located on the corner of Briggate just down from the Corn Exchange - which is just up the road from Leeds Station or, as with The Light, within a short walk of a number of city centre car parks whose rates differ (so try and check them out before you go).
Full length glass windows all the way round the ground floor looking out onto two main roads. Funny for people watching - especially as there seemed to be a dozen hen parties walking past this evening! :-) Only a dozen or so tables downstairs, with a further 12-15 tables upstairs. A few booths upstairs but otherwise all tables/chairs.
A little odd the decor. It had a pop-art feel throughout. All the walls (upstairs and down) were completely white (like the York branch), but with no decor on them at all... with the exception of two collages on the stairs made into a heart and a chicken. Instead, the art/prints were repeated on the lampshades on both floors - which I don't think I've seen before! I think just for this unique item I'll give it a four... especially as the toilets were immaculately clean too.
Arrived at about 6pm and there was no time to wait. Less than half full too - which meant no wait to order and less than 5 minutes for the food to come!
The food was really good. I was claiming and buying vareity of bits (free 1/4 and free 1/2 chicken) so what came was a feast. The large chips were enormous, the large rice was a mound and three breasts of chicken. All were cooked fantastically and were dripping in sauce. The chips were hot and crispy and the rice was hot and succulent. Stuffed.
The staff were nice too, but downstairs at least they did the minimum required. They weren't rude but I didn't see any of them purposely engage with anybody.
