Liverpool - Queen Square - Marc Joss Review
This Nando's was very conveniently located given the Mariott hotel in Liverpool city centre is right next door. As I walked in with SVC, we were initially impressed by the décor but later had reason to change our minds. The downstairs area is spacious with funky seating, lighting and cooler, upstairs however was a sweltering furnace, the artwork was far from impressive and the sauce selection was depleted. Therefore an average of a 3.
The general vibe from the Nandocas was ok but not as many were smiling as I would have hoped, maybe the Saturday afternoon shift is a particularly tough one! I did have a good chat with Manager Cas about the site, word has finally spread to Liverpool!
It took around 20 minutes for food to arrive and I have to say it was disappointing. Initially I was brought a medium half chicken which is mildly offensively since I haven't ordered such a thing since I was about 15. Obviously their mistake and to be fair to them, they rectified it swiftly. The problem was the chicken. Hardly any sauce on it, it was dry and just not very tasty. I had to actually douse my chicken in extra extra hot sauce because it was so bland but it was simply not the same. The rest was fine, too many peri chips for me to handle in fact, given the abundant full English Breakfast which had entered my stomach just hours earlier.
Overall it was a slightly disappointing visit but at least my 124th different UK Nando's has been ticked off!
