Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

This store is in the heart of Liverpool right next to the Bus station and there is very limited on street short stay parking in some side streets, The store looks quite modern and nice from the outside but has the hindrance of stepped entry to the store which does limit the scope of visitors.

Upon entering we could see a few empty tables (not to mention the whole of upstairs which was not in use) and the host initially said I will take you to that table (pointing at one), then changed his mind and said we had to wait 5 minutes in the large entrance / queuing area in the middle (where you could fit another 6 tables and take away the need to queue!!!!!!!!). After waiting 5 minutes we were then shown across to the table we had been told we could have 5 minutes earlier which was in a corridor down to a secluded area. Decoration despite some feature items was very minimal and the brown poorly plastered / artexed walls were quite depressive. There was an internal corridor of about a metre which led through to the till area and seemed to be part of the store since it was the main route through both to toilets and tills. When walking through it to the tills the manager was rude to me and told me I wasn't allowed to use it. I apologised and said I hadn't seen any signs at which point he took the chance to be rude again and tell me not to use it and walk around the periphery of the store.

The Girl serving was probably the only polite member of staff then headed back to the table and awaited the food which took some time. This gave me opportunity to get a head ache from the over loud music and the locals desires to scream their conversations above it and the loud constant banging of the heavy doors leading to the stairs down to the Basement toilets which could also do with a spruce up. Upon collecting cutlery and an extra plate the first 3 plates I took from the stack were dirty and wet so I left them on the side (for a member of staff to put them back on the stack in their dirty state) and the cutlery was also dirty so made use of the waiting time and the napkins to clean them ourselves.

The food was then plonked on our table, the chips whilst hot were a standard small size, the chicken was burnt and had the burnt flavour permeating through.

No one came to check if the food was ok or to ask if we wanted dessert and after a while of waiting and still not seeing a member of staff we were grateful to leave this store never to return.

The staff and in particular the manager needs retraining in the Nandos way and obviously the store is too far from head office to come under much scrutiney, also if you have areas of the store you don't want customers walking through put up a sign, a door or some way of differentiating them rather than just being rude to customers.
