Maidstone - Gerry Louis Review
The second of three free meals this weekend and maybe the worst? I'm not saying the food was crap, but compared to the other two, waiting time, delivery and service it was the worst.
About ten minute wait for a table after entering we were seated upstairs, the Wolf and I by the window. I was worried about having to go back downstairs to order but there is a second counter upstairs though it was only manned by one person. She was nice enough the lady but after I got to the front she went off somewhere and made me wait till she got back.
I ordered a 1/4 chicken mango and lime, sweet mash and one halloumi and it took nearly 25 minutes to arrive. There were no knives and forks, no tissues and the table was being supported with tissue underneath one leg. The food was good but the restaurant was a bit dirty. Tables left unclean after patrons left, and the tables were so close together. Oh the food was all warm too. Jimbo wasn't a very useful member of staff I will add that here too..
Easy branch to find though from Maidstone East station. Just off the main high street, past the local spoons, turn left opposite marks and Spencer's and it is opposite an American diner, zizzi and a cafe rouge. there is a third floor where the toilets reside and on a shelf you can see two fake chickens pecking at the floor. It's Nando's so they'd actually be on a plate but if it makes the manager happy, go with it.
