Manchester - Oxford Road - Elliott Waters Review
We were seated in a booth, which was surrounded by some magnificent decor. After a short while reading the menu, I went to place my order. It took quite a while, as three students in front of me dithered, and were too busy playing with their hair to realise one of the tills was free. After this little hiccup, I made it to the front, my order was taken, and I returned to my table.
The meal arrived just over 10 minutes after ordering, which wasn't bad considering how busy it was. I ordered 3 chicken wings lemon and herb, with chips and salad. The wings were warm, but not hot, and a little burnt, although I like that. You could just about taste the spice in them, and did fall off the bones quite well. The salad was OK, although was a very generously sized portion. The chips were moist, not the best I've had from here, but weren't the worst!
When we first arrived at 1230, the outlet was nearly full. However when we left, at 1315, it was rammed and they were queueing out the door. This made exiting a little difficult, as the many students simply didn't seem to understand 'excuse me', but would sadly only respond to being moved.
This outlet, just off Oxford Road, and opposite Manchester Metropolitan University, is best avoided at lunch, as it gets incredibly busy. Mid-afternoon or just after opening are the best times to visit.
