After spending the day watching Shrewsbury get smashed by Preston a little detour via Salford to cheer me mate up was in order... I'm not sure it worked though...

Being in Salford Quays, this Nando's is just a minute or two walk from the BBC/ITV buildings, The Lowry and the Imperial War Museum North. Old Trafford is just a few extra minutes walk away too.

MediaCityUK also has its own tram stop (which is just a few paces from The Lowry), so it's very accessible..

Parking is also well signposted and charged 24/7 in "The Garage". Mon-Fri it is free/30mins, 1hr/£2, 2hrs/£3.50, 3hrs/£4.50, 4hrs/£5.50 and upwards towards 24hrs/£15. Sat/Sun it is free/30 mins, 1hr/£1, 2hrs/£2, 3-8hrs/£5 and again upwards to 24hrs/£15.

Nando's takes up a lot of the ground floor of the Digital Centre tower (opposite The Lowry) so although it's butt ugly from the outside, inside it's spacious and very nicely decorated. The left hand wall of the restaurant starts from the entrance and curves all the way round to the back. This wall has many canvas paintings dotted all the way along it inbetween the windows. The main feature is the six or seven very very large multi-coloured wicker shades that seem to fill the whole ceiling (with light bulbs inside).

There are also plenty of tables including six or seven large circular booths with bright coloured upholstery, one long 12-seater table in the middle of the floor and other square booths and bench/table seating. All very fresh and bright.

It was about half full so the food came in 7 minutes and was to a high standard. A meaty whole chicken, with plenty of sauce and hot and moist down to the bone. Plenty of hot chips and hot rice. Good stuff.

Staff were present in abundance but just doing as expected.
