Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

Working in Abergavenny meant my nearest Nando's was about 20 miles away so I knew I'd have to drive to feed my habit - and the nearest place was Merthyr Tydfil.

It's located in the Rhydycar Complex so loads and loads of free parking with a cinema next door - and I think a huge leisure centre as I definitely saw some water slides! Must bring my cozzie next time!

I arrived at about 7:30pm and was eating on my own so was shown to a table straight away. It was very quiet - maybe only a quarter full.

First impressions were great. A big glass archway to get in with big glass windows too - and then wow! What a ceiling! Not sure what it's meant to be but lots of strips all at different lengths and shapes. Lots of paintings on the walls too.

Not much of a wait to order and the food came in just over 10 minutes... but uh oh! In goes the fork into the rice and out it all comes in one big lump. Try and cut it up but nope, it's all stuck. One of the members of staff even saw me do it and was very apologetic and came back with a fresh bowl straight away - good stuff.

But then dear oh dear... after a few bites... is that pink chicken? Not just a little bit of pink on the bone either - a fair amount of it. The same waitress was shocked too! But again, all credit to her a replacement half chicken came straight away. Just a shame the good stuff wasn't given to me first.

After this had happened every two minutes I was asked if everything was okay and go a free bowl of olives out of it. The staff were great and I'd love to go back to see if it was a one off, but sadly, this gets a low score for the food this time.
