Metro Centre - Blue Mall - Kate Hedley Review
I can't say I was expecting Nando's to be empty and extra-fast today; it is, after all, a bank holiday. It's also a really nice day outside, so it's almost a shame to be sitting inside - but hey. Nando's is worth it. Right?
Well. Usually.
It looks gorgeous in here, and it's huge. I do love a labyrinth of a restaurant. I'm happiest if I struggle to find the loo, and I reckon that nearly applies here. Can't speak for my friend, who had a few problems, but the staff I spoke to were also pretty friendly. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end.
We weren't greeted at the door; my friend had to go and find someone after we'd been waiting a while. After that it didn't take long to be seated, but who knows how long it would have taken if he hadn't said anything? Our table was nice and roomy, which was lucky given the amount of time we were about to spend waiting at it!
Okay - maybe that's unfair. Twenty minutes is probably standard for a busy restaurant. I don't mind waiting twenty minutes, even for semi-fast food. Thing is, it should be pretty good when if gets to you regardless of how long you wait. The chips were standard Nando's fare, but my chicken looked like something out of a shockumentary. Thankfully it did taste better than it looked - still wasn't exactly tasty, but you take what you can get.
Even if that includes a bun with a similar texture to your meat.
