Metro Centre - Blue Mall - Elliott Waters Review
Decided to have a trip to the Metrocentre, and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use the free chicken that I had won in the monthly review competition. I've only been to the Yellow mall outlet, so a trip to the Blue mall was in order.
What a disappointment.
Whilst bank holiday Nandos are normally quite busy, this was exceptionally busy, and there just didn't seem to be any order when you entered. The welcome Nandoca was no where to be seen, so I asked a Nandoca who was more interested in her friends how long a table for 2 would take. I was thrusted two menus and sent packing to the outside waiting area, which again was rather disorganised. Waited roughly 15 minutes for a table, and was shown to quite a pleasant table in the middle of the outlet. Went to order, and there was only one person on the till point, which caused quite a large queue. Another till was opened, and I placed my order. It wasn't a great experience, and they decided to not swipe the Nandos card, meaning I missed out on a chilli. I mentioned this to another Nandoca, and it was soon rectified, with the chilli being added to my card, however only after a winge.
Food arrived, looked OK. The chicken wasn't great, decided to order medium, it wasn't very spicy, and the bread on the burger was stale and crumbly. The salad was slightly better, and the spicy rice cold. My friends meal wasn't much better either. Probably the worst Nandos I've had really, and I've had a lot of Nandos.
The restaurant itself looks quite good, very big, with some nice Nandos decor, cleanliness isn't a strong point (it was busy though...) with many tables left with empties to fester.
This outlet is in the Blue mall next to the transport interchange. If you can go to the one in the Yellow mall, do, as in my experience it was much more enjoyable. Getting to the Metrocentre is easy, plenty of buses and lots of free parking!
