Middlesex Street - Ryan Review
After finishing up at Spitalfields I headed back to Fenchurch Street so stopped off for my second Nando's here! Liverpool Street tube/train station are the nearest being a few minutes walk away and Fenchurch Street is less than 10 minutes walk away.
Got here about 8:45pm and over the two floors it was less than half full. There's a big wooden Nando's in the window on the floor at street level. There are some nice illuminated red chillies above the entrance for lighting and more multi-coloured lights hanging above the booths (downstairs at least).
Downstairs the seating is mainly booths - 10 in all including a large one in opposite corners. Upstairs it opens up more towards the back past the drinks machine - but at the front it's a pretty tight... especially as the queue for the till spreads into people's tables or just sprawls onto the stairs at the entrance. It makes it awkward for people to deliver food when they were squeezing between bodies.
There were nine empty tables downstairs so I was given the only one that didn't have empty glasses and plates in them... and they stayed this way for the whole time I was there - as did all the crap on the floor (loads of chips and spilled sauces)... Overall the setup and decor averages out to a 3.
Being my second meal of the night I went for the chicken fillet burger and chips... sadly - after 22 minutes my burger cane out and was cold. Completely cold. It didn't even have any lettuce or tomato on it either... and sadly, the chips were just as cold (and soggy)!
Nobody came to check on me during the meal - and infact I didn't see any staff come downstairs (hence why all the tables were unkempt) so I just ate it and left...
