Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

I love this Nando's and not just because it is 5 minutes walk from my home. I went with a friend for a weekday dinner at around 6pm. My friend had not been to this Nando's before but was very pleasantly surprised - and she is a tough cookie to please.

We arrived at the restaurant and were given a choice of tables which was nice, although the booth seat we wanted was apparently not available! Our food was reasonably quick to come out (it felt longer as we were hungry but I think it was actually pretty fast). My spicy rice seemed extra delicious, and the only comment I had was that my pitta felt slightly stale/over grilled as it was a bit too crunchy for my liking but everything else was delicious.

We took our time and chatted for a quite a while, and didn't feel rushed to leave. We then decided to have dessert. Unfortunately our first choice wasn't available (and this isn't the first time this has happened at this branch). We had the chocolate cheesecake, which is very nice but as I said, not my first choice (the caramel cheesecake was the offending item that was not available). Having had a dessert at a Nando's before I noticed that the portions of the cream that came with it were smaller than usual (is it bad that I know that?)

I think I've written this before but this is also a really good location for public transport - 5 minutes walk from the train station, and on the 131, 213, 265 and x26 bus routes. Parking is available in nearby residential roads at a 5 minute or more walk away or in the multi storey town centre car park which again is about a 5 minute walk away. The original rumour on the New Malden grapevine about this location was that it was going to be a Pizza Express but thankfully it wasn't. Pizza Express is now coming to New Malden at a different location, but if you chose a Pizza Express over a Nando's, I'm not sure I'd want to be your friend anyway! ;-)
