The staff were the real highlight of my visit, which I think is always bad for a restaurant because I think the food should be the highlight. Despite its business, the service was excellent. The atmosphere was buzzy, but not too noisy. The company was delightful, but the food was a bit average. Chicken was dry, mashed potato was lumpy, garlic bread was cold, chicken wings, well, where do I start with the wings?

A visit to Newcastle would not be complete without popping in to the Nando's, and after visiting both Metrocentre outlets to find a queue of at least an hour building, a short hop on the train to Newcastle, Eldon Square was to be the outlet worthy of my custom.

Had to wait 45 minutes for food as there was no chicken cooked and had to wait for it to come out of the oven!

Located on two floors, this outlet is quite long and thin, with the majority of seating being available on the first floor. This is reached by a spiral staircase right at the back of the outlet. Tillpoints and cutlery/sauce areas are available on both floors. I was seated on the ground floor, roughly central, by the window. After a short period looking disinterested at the menu, I went to place my order. The order process was quick, and quite slick, with no problems to complain about.

first time visitors . Although seated immediately we waited 15 mins for our order to be taken On enquiring we learned we had to order at the counter! Instructions would have been helpful printed or verbal. staff were otherwise polite and helpful . Food when it came was excellent such a pleasant change from pizza hut. I get sick of my kids eating all that fat and cheese! well at least we know for next time. There will be a next time.

Eve was a robot and cold talker as one of the staff explained that she is exactly the same for them. i thought nandos always has that great atmosphere but for sure she ruined it pretty damn well. no going back there again. staff were so robotic too. metrocentre is the best.

I don't think there's a student discount, but it's a pretty decent Nandos overall, I prefer the one in the Gate, but this is a bit more convenient if you're a daytime shopper.
Anyone who knows Newcastle knows that it's pointless taking a car into town, the streets are pedestrianised and public transport is much easier and cheaper.

After a day in Newcastle (and a lunch in Nando's already!), I stopped at Eldon Square at about 6pm on Friday evening. As with The Gate, this is one of a few shopping centres around Newcastle City Centre - so plenty of stuff to see and do if you're in the area. Also, as with The Gate, Eldon Square has its own car park priced very reasonably and as with most car parks is free after 5pm! I caught the Metro in anyway and Monument station leaves you a couple minutes walk away.

Entrance is by a small tall table seating area on the ground floor of the Eldon shopping centre in city centre, which was not been used for eating despite there being a wait for tables upstairs. We were coralled here with other waiting customers by a staff member before being sent upstairs, Also very large seating area outside in the square but too cold to use.

Located in an exceptionally modern shopping facility, this Nandos is everything you would expect, albeit very average. The staff were very friendly and the food was just as you would expect. The only problem I had was the Peri-Peri chips were lacking in Peri-Peri salt, you could barely see the stuff was there.

Cheesecake was BEAUT. The sun was shining through the windows and the promise of the day was still upon us as Jasmine and Jasmine entered Nandos and embarked upon an original, tantalising and ravishing experience with both fried chicken and beanie burgers. WOW.

Heard about you from a friend in Northumbria University whilst taking part in a teacher interview thing...
