Norwich - Riverside - Marc Joss Review
A pre-match Nando's was on the cards after a 2 hour drive over from London. Parking in the multi-storey car park is free for up to 4 hours if you get your ticket validated at the cinema which is what we managed to do.
There are many other eateries in the vicinity of this pedestrianised city centre which is just a couple of minutes away from Norwich train station and Carrow Road stadium.
We were seated immediately in this rather small Nando's which has some seating outside, ideal when the sun is out! We were on a table for 4 near the sink and uncomfortably close to the booth behind us which meant that whenever someone sitting on the right-hand part of the booth needed to get up, our meal was interrupted.
The highlight of this Nando's was the food. My chicken was wholesome, saucy and spicy and peri chips were sprinkled with the perfect amount of peri salt. The staff were very helpful and friendly even though the restaurant was basically full and there were only 2 people seating nandoers and distributing food.
This visit did teach me one thing about the Nando's card: I discovered that if you want a double wrap, you can use an orange chilli to get a single wrap and then just pay for extra chicken which is a rather economical option.
If I return to Norwich, I'll check out the Red Lion restaurant to see how it compares. In terms of convenience for a pre or post-match Nando's however, this one is a winner!
