Oxford - Cowley Road - Pompey Ranger Review
A wet Saturday saw our arrival at this high street store in a secondary retail area in the city of Oxford. The former pub certainly shows it past and a large illuminated cockeral takes pride of place above the door of this corner location which features a small car park to its rear and a beer garden ( sorry peri garden) to its side.
Upon entering we were faced with a large queue before the till and an abundance of dirty tables waiting clearing, being a good nandoer I was waiting for our host to come and greet us and seat us, I waited in vain and it was only when people came in behind me after while and started to queue jump that someone eventually came out. Once shown to our dirty table they cleared it as we sat down which seems to be the norm at this store. I immediately rushed to join the queue in this small split level store, upon reaching the front I noted only one till was in operation whilst a manager was playing around with the other till (something i notice in many nando's nowadays.
Food was a wait and the chips were a bit cold but by this point i just wanted to eat and go and couldn't wait for the guy to come back and check on me to tell him (I noticed a lot of barcis left on tables around the store so didn't hold out hope of getting someone. The salts were empty.
Chicken was ok but again nothing special to write hope about. This nandos is functional to its local community but not worth while going out of your way to get to.
