Portsmouth - Ryan Review
Popped into Portsmouth on the way back from a week on the Isle of Wight... no way to get to Nando's unless you take a ferry back to the mainland - the torture! So, needless to say, anything with peri-peri slapped on it would have tasted delicious - but luckily it was chicken :-)
It was a little while ago since I was here, but every Nando's I have been to since is always compared back to Portsmouth for its speed. I know Rate YOUR Nando's has the saying "I had only just got back with my cutlery and sauce"... but the waitresses even beat that. They were waiting at the table looking for our group wondering where we were! I now regularly use the phrase "that was quick - but not as quick as Portsmouth!" (Well I thought it was funny.)
Whenever your food comes this quickly anywhere other than McDonalds, you kinda think in your mind that it can't possibly be cooked or was left over from the lunch rush or something... but each person's chicken in the group was absolutely fine. Maybe even better than average.
We arrived in two groups of four people - about 25 minutes apart from each other (around 6pm) and every person in the two groups had the same experience. So top notch to the serving staff!
The branch itself is located in the Gunwharf Quays centre, so plenty of parking within the centre and pretty reasonable. I think it only cost me a quid, but that was a couple years ago now.
It was a very clean Nando's too. Not sure how long it had been there - but nice flooring and decorations - and loads of plants all over the place.
Good stuff!
