Opening day, well opening hour, and a new nearest Nando's branch for me, so it would have been rude not to go and visit...

This Nando's is loacted in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre in the new "The Hub" part. There is a Vue cinema at this end of the centre - and Nando's is part of the old TJ Hughes store. There is currently Pure Gym and Nando's open here with another three restaurants, including Real China Buffet and Pizza Hut due to open at some point. Other shops in the Kingfisher include Debenhams, M&S, Primark, Next, BHS, Wilkinsons etc.

Redditch train station is right outside the Kingfisher and parking is reasonable - head for car park 1 or 4 off the ring road. Mon-Sat 7:30am-5:30pm it is £1.20/2hrs, £2.50/2-5hrs, £3/5-6hrs and upwards from there. After 5:30pm Mon-Sat it is FREE until closing (which is 1am for car parks 1 and 4) and is £1 all day on a Sunday.

There are a dozen or so tables "outside" underneath an illuminated wavy wooden canopy. Inside are a further 40+ tables, so plenty of seating. 4 large booths on the right-side wall surrounded by the sort of Jenga blocks seen at Bicester with wood carvings set into the wall. To the left wall is bench table/seating with several large canvas paintings on the wall. In the middle at the front are a few large circular booths with a big string/rope canopy over them - with a multi-coloured "trunk" and coloured glass orbs dangling off them. Towards the back by the drink machine is further bench/table seating and a few more smaller booths - with further canvas paintings on the wall and some glass/mosaic lampshades. Some further small canvas paintings above the red leather bench for the seated waiting area by the till. Toilets were spotless and completely tiled in a bright turquoisey blue. All in all, very nicely decorated.

Seeing as this had only been open for 40 minutes, it was surprisingly busy and over half full inside. The food came in under 10 minutes and was very good. Not the biggest portion I've had, but everything was piping hot - and the rice was lovely and moist, the chips were crispy and the chicken was very juicy and smothered in sauce.

I had expected the staff to be a bit more chipper and chatty seeing as it was opening hour - but otherwise they did as expected.
