Sheffield - Meadowhall - Pompey Ranger Review
First attempted to visit this store on the Saturday afternoon, Parked up in the car park and walked across to the food court of this large shopping complex that features cinemas and many stores. Parking is a way off from the entrance but there is typical decoration on way to entrance. You enter into the crowded food court with outlets all around including all the high street brands. First attempt was told the wait for a table for one would be in excess of half an hour so binned it and went to weatherspoons.
I returned the following day at lunch time with a few friends. Queued up outside the store front and was told it would again be in excess of half hour wait or a table for 4 and seemed to be discouraged from waiting. Since there was a large food court seating area which serviced all the stores we decided to get take away to eat outside. Queued up and paid which took quite some time. Then we noticed people who had arrived after us were being seated so we asked about getting a table we saw being vacated and were told we would have to go to back of queue to wait since we had opted for takeaway. Since we were waiting for food anyway we asked to go back on waiting list. After 10 mins we got a table but still no food.
Took over half an hour for our take away bags to come out and we realised it wasn’t a problem with getting a seats more the kitchen wasn’t up to form with speed! My chicken when i took it out the bag was dried out, slightly burnt and without sauce and felt small compared to some portions I’ve previously had, chips were on the cool side.
The store was very cramped with tables on top of each other and little space to squeeze through and a mixture of tables and high tables but no booths or soft seating. Interesting decoration is only plus to this store. Toilets were individual cubicle style, bland and very cramped. You need to be a contortionist to actually sit on the loo as was at weird angle in a tiny slot.
When the girl came and asked how our meal was at the end i informed her the chicken was dry, she asked if i meant dried out or no sauce to which i pointed out it was both and also showed the bones which were clearly burnt, she just looked surprised but didn’t offer any remedy and walked off. I have no plans to return to this store
