It had been far too long, but finally the opening of a new north London Nando's was a chance to catch up with the man who's been to more Nando's than anyone else (that we know of, at least), Ryan!
The new Southgate Nando's is based on two levels and has a sizeable separate waiting room, a concept which I don't recall seeing at any other Nando's! The staff were all very enthusiastic and busy, with manager Oz telling me about how rammed they've been since opening.
I was given a table upstairs in a large circular seating area with tables for twos and fours, with one side on a comfy sofa and chairs on the other side. There was no queue to order, but it did take close to 15 minutes for my food to arrive. My half chicken was covered in sauce, abundant in size and the peri chips were plentiful. The garlic bread and halloumi were just as you'd expect and my only qualm was it not being quite spicy enough for my liking.
I will definitely be back soon and hope we can organise a Reviewer Dinner at this brand new Nando's in spring or summer 2018.
