Southport - Ryan Review
Dropped into here for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised! It's located on the Ocean Plaza that has a cinema and a whole bunch of other restaurants too.
Sadly for this area of Southport, it looks like the fair has seen better days - and a lot of it has been closed - so it's good there's a leisure park like this to keep the tourism going.
Was about 3pm I arrived and was seated straight away. No wait for the food and it came in a little over 10 minutes. I ordered the chicken breast burger and garlic bread. I was on my own so nipped to the toilet and left my table sauce and drink on the table. I came back and it had gone! The staff were too efficient and cleared me away! They were so apologetic though I got a double chicken breast as a free upgrade. Needless to say I was stuffed for a lunch visit! After this they were then always checking I was fine :-)
The chicken itself was dripping in sauce and piping hot and I pretty much had a whole lettuce on it which was great. The garlic bread bread was crispy and cooked just right.
The most impressive thing though was the decor. It was a particularly big branch - but it was very nicely done up. When you walk in the first thing you see is a big metal chicken at the centre of the restaurant. Really shows what's at the heart of Nando's. Then on the wall behind this is a wall full of bright artwork. The ceiling is very bright too - it's to look like a skylight but just has nice blue/purple lights making the whole restaurant light. It's really well laid out too - no empty spaces and other than the booths, every table is pretty much a two seater so easy to change the seating arrangements. The booths are over to the right - and there were parties of 8 on them so pretty big with long full length mirrors in the booths to make them look bigger and brighter.
Very good indeed!
