Southwark Arches - Pompey Ranger Review
When you come out of Southwark Tube station look over the road for the neon Nandos and follow the light down the forecourt (which I am guessing might have tables during summer?) to this store built under the railway arches in a manner similar to Vauxhall Arches and Clink street which are also 2 top stores. Upon entering the double height glass fronted side attachment we were impressed. Lots of artwork and of a good quality span this store. A yellow tiled curvy counter welcomes you in with seats and tables down either side of the arch and strange but impressive wicker pods / eggs forming round booths at different heights down the middle of the store.
Toilets are upstairs and they blew me away with an orange container style look which was bright and cheerful and very impressive sinks they were far more spacious than I had expected.
The sauce and beverage area are beyond the till and counter and was impressively clean and well laid out.
The welcome was impressively friendly and he gave us a table in the pods in the middle and was chatty and friendly. When we queued to order at the till they instantly opened another till so we didn't wait. They were perfectly polite and friendly with us the whole time and truly made us welcome.
Food was tasty and well cooked which we enjoyed and between myself and my friends we had a good variety of the menu inc the haloumi and houmous, chicken halfs and chicken pittas and we all loved it. Succulent and tasty and very good portion sizes. We were all stuffed at the end and it was lucky it was only a short waddle / stuffed shuffle to the tube station after.
We all agreed we would like to return to this branch in the future.
