Southwark Arches - Gerry Louis Review
Every body's been here so there's not much that i need to write about this branch. Two minutes walk from the train station. No waiting for a table. I cancelled the garlic bread cos i didn't want carbs. In Twelve minutes exactly as predicted the food arrived although the mash looked like someone played around with it. Great food, great service.
They've got these amazing bird nest type seating areas in the middle which was really nice, and their paintings were definitely different to all other Nando's I've been to so far.. One of the paintings seemed damaged, but when you're at the top of the stairs, its a great view of the whole restaurant.
Editing my review because the above is probably not too fair.
It was about 3 minutes until someone came to greet me when I entered the restaurant. Saying I'm eating in, she tried to take me to a small table in between two others that were occupied by couples which I rejected and opted for a larger table at the back of the restaurant. A great view of what might be a police car park, rather that than looking in the branch and seeing everyone eating with friends.
So ordered my food easy enough and it arrived within 12 minutes which is pretty decent but now that I've had quicker servings you expect more. The food was brought over by a very smiley chap. And as above the mash was decent, no lumps, nice colour and consistency. The chicken was only burnt on the wing tip but it was a decent size though not enough sauce. The halloumi on top was lightly grilled but underneath was slightly over done.
When I finished my meal, a young man was there within a second to pick up my plate though he said "I'm not trying to rush you out" so cute.
Glad I finally did this branch now, great location, excellent service, they're onto a good thing there.
