St Albans - Lozzy Review
I have been to this Nando's on a few occasions but this time I was very dissapointed for various reasons. Firstly the staff (this has been an issue on previous visits too). Although I have come accross some friendly chefs in this branch before, I have enounterd the rude waitresses on a few occasions now (not all of them are rude, just a particular few). I find that they don't make me feel welcome in true nando's fashion...they ignore me, are abrupt and don't come accross as very willing to help. This visit was particularly poor because we had to wait quite a while for our food (around 20 mins) during this time the fire alarm went off and the restaurant smelled of burnt food...which could explain the delay!! When the food came it was very dissapointing...the 'peri' chips had hardly any peri on them, they were cold and somewhat soggy, the chicken in my pitta was very overcooked and tough! I noticed while queueing to order (about 15 mins in this queue which is ages in Nando's time) that there was a huge amount of food sat under the heaters waiting to be taken to tables. This food was sat there for the duration of the queue which might explain the cold/tough meal I had! However, i will say the garlic bread was yummy. I didn't find this branch to feel overly clean, not helped by the standard wooden tables used in Nando's which are often sticky. As mentioned before I have come accross nice staff in this branch before (in particular a chef who was very friendly and happy to cook the chicken with 2 sauces mixed, which is not always the case). The branch had some interesting artwork on the wall, and there was plenty of cutlery, sauces etc which is always a plus.
