No birthday is complete without a Nando's so of all the ones not done yet st. Christopher's place fit into my schedule. Nando's 114 was not bad, the staff were great and the food was nice but some of the other guests were very annoying blowing their noses whilst I was eating which is a real 'pet hate'.

Got there about 3.40 and it was a breakfast/ lunch meal despite the time. The last host was taking two guys downstairs so another stepped up and we followed them. I was shown to an alcove downstairs and seated in there on a small round table specifically for single occupancy. There was a very cool guy in there, a nerd and Spanish Ugly Betty and her sister at three other tables in there. Went to order and the two guys before me were being asked about cheese in their wrap. I recommended the halloumi as they've never been asked before and they went off. Free Half chicken mango and lime, sweet mash, peri chips and garlic bread. Gym first thing, and only a sausage roll since 6.40 am, I was hungry.

Food arrived within seven minutes which I was very surprised about. I expected a delay because upstairs was full and there was a table of four before myself and the two guys so it came out quite quickly. Large portion of peri chips with plenty of peri, loads of mash and huge pieces of garlic bread. The chicken looked delicious, no burnt bits and plenty of sauce but you know looks can be deceiving. Slightly pink inside, it was edible but I would have preferred it cooked a little longer. It was quite a big portion so maybe the timing was right compared to other chickens being cooked at the same time. I couldn't finish the breast as it is always very dry so that I wrapped in tissue to take away. It was funny because the Nandoca would turn up to take the plates away from the previous guests but as soon as I wanted one for takeaway stuff, none in sight!

Went to enquire how the guys had got on with the halloumi and they said thanks it was a good shout. They had both tried it despite the really cool one saying he had half chicken and sweet mash like myself. Mentioned it was my birthday and they said the usual, as I got ready to leave they had got me a chocolate cake! I was already full from my huge meal so I couldn't have eaten it anyway but I don't really like that cake because it's too much chocolate, and it's too thick! The slice I was given was more like two but they really do big portions here, which is nice.

About a seven minute walk from Selfridges, I got there by bus from Swiss cottage. Plenty of public transport nearby so very easy to get to, will be better once bond street is back in commission. Please beware you will be manouvering through Oxford Street shoppers. The branch is very bright and colourful outside, plenty of orange. It's a bit weird as there is a counter outside for seating of the restaurant front wall with a bright orange bench for seating. A few other tables outside but the branch is really small, maybe only 30 something tables with twenty inside? Not much artwork but the walls are great, you can't touch them when you're on your own otherwise it would look weird.

Nice branch, intimate but please cook the chicken better.
