First day back at work after a long weekend and figured I'd try and keep the holiday feeling going by treating myself to a Nando's takeaway for lunch (or, as it was, let them treat me as I was using my red reward). Baker Street is slightly closer to my office but figured I'd wander down to James Street and visit the newer branch to see how it had come along since I went on its opening day.

I feared it'd be rammed given it was a pretty warm lunchtime and the alfresco seating was busy outside when I approached. However, when I went in, I was immediately greeted by a Nandoca and was next in line to be served at the tills... and that's where it all went a bit wrong.

I'd heard that you could now redeem a butterfly burger as part of a red reward but the cashier, Adrian, gave a firm 'no' when I asked him, which was extremely disappointing. I opted for a wrap instead, with peri chips and garlic bread, and waited for it to come. While waiting for my order, I tweeted Nando's and they confirmed that I should have been able to get a butterfly burger, which only added to my frustration. Given the short timeframe I have during lunch, I figured best just to leave it rather than kick up a fuss in the restaurant... although had I been sitting down, I probably would have said something - especially as when it came to eating my sides en route back to the office, they were so poor! My garlic bread was cajun-style, one of them was especially BBQ'd; and my peri chips were seemingly without the peri. Ironically, my wrap was really good (and I usually find them very hit-and-miss), I especially like it when I they don't cut them in the middle on takeaway orders so you eat them like a burrito.

All-in-all, 4/5 for the restaurant decor (which goes up from last time {see link below} thanks to the alfresco option with the warmer weather), 5/5 for the Nandocas who greeted me and gave me my food but 0/5 for the guy who served me, 3/5 for time. The wrap was about a 4.5, the sides 1.5ish... which would make 3 but I'll give it 2.5 so the overall score is brought down to below average - given that this wasn't what I should've been able to order. Credit Nando's social media team who said they'll look into it (hopefully!)
