St Pauls - One New Change - Gerry Louis Review
Another weekend another new Nando's! Was originally going to Mile End but I have the map for St Paul's so went there instead. Plus it was closer from Ealing Broadway!
Easy enough to find, it's a five min walk from St Paul's underground station and up one flight of stairs in the New Change. Surrounded by other restaurants there's no point in going to, Nando's is round the side past Byron and pizza express.
So I got there just after 4pm and was told there was a twenty minute wait for chicken... Er, okay, not turning back now so I picked a table I thought would be away from the door because it was freezing. Unfortunately number 42 was still in the reach of the cold wind and under the air conditioner so I was still cold and chickenless. The Amazing Spider-Man kept me busy for the twenty mins where I also noticed there was no artwork or decorations to be seen.
22 minutes later the chicken finally arrived. I had a view of the counter so could see the chicken was waiting there a while so i was surprised it still came to me hot. They gave me a huge portion of sweet mash as well, probably to compensate for the wait. The chicken was tasty, delicious, succulent, and the mash was sublime. The table top was a bit distracting because it was so worn down so this branch deffo needs investment.
On my way to the toilets to check them out there were three to five of a similar painting along the back wall where there were also booths which you can't see as you come in. I originally thought the branch was small but then discovered it wasn't. The toilets are on a floor above the restaurant accessible round the back. They were okay but this branch needs some work.
