Stanmore - James RYN Review
A brand new Nando's in the Rate Your Nando's Team's home territory of North London is always exciting, so I made it a priority to get here ASAP after opening! Unfortunately Marc couldn't join me, but I know he will be stopping in soon.
As you would expect from a Nando's less than a week old, the decoration was top notch, and the place was spotless. The wooden tables hadn't gone sticky yet from years of Nando's sauce residue, and there were some interesting round tables with comfortable looking chairs. The restaurant was almost full on a Monday night, so I dread to think how difficult it might be to get a table on a Friday or Saturday. I'd say so many round tables may not have been the best use of space, but we will see how things go. There were also a lot of people ordering takeaways, which I think could be a very popular use of this particular Nando's!
As for the meal itself, ordering was quick and easy, and the new Nandocas I interacted with all seemed well trained and knowledgeable. The food took quite a while to come which was the only downside, but when it did, it was very good indeed. The chips were piping hot and well cooked, and I got to dish out my own peri spice which is always a bonus (though they forgot when preparing the food). Main reason the food misses out on a 5/5 is that my wrap, while delicious, was not perfectly formed. The halloumi cheese had all fallen down the back with the pineapple, so I found myself chomping the chicken first, and finding some (still delicious) sweet Extra Hot halloumi cheese at the back.
Given the convenience of this Nando's and pleasant ex-peri-peri-ence of my first meal there, I will no doubt be returning, hopefully as soon as Marc's first visit!
