Stevenage - Roaring Meg - Ryan Review
This Nando's is on the Roaring Meg Retail Park and so is easily found just off junction 7 of the A1(M). It's less than a mile from the town centre and train station - and also from Stevenage Leisure park where things like a Hollywood Bowl and Cineworld are. There is an abundance of free parking right outside for up to 3 hours.
Arrived at this Nando's around 5:30pm and it was very quiet - only a couple of tables in use and at one point I was the only person in there.
It's a pretty new Nando's so the decor was bright and everything was still clean looking. The main seating area at the front has a grid of individual light bulbs hanging down and then some multi-coloured canvas lampshades above other tables. There are some "windows" here which allow you to stare out into the Debenhams store this Nando's is built into... Towards the back are some booths with nice pale yellow shades for lighting. There are a few bright paintings dotted around, but this Nando's is mainly putting all of the repurposed wood on show. Toilets were at the back and were clean and bright.
I went to the toilet as soon as I ordered and the server was standing there at my table with my food before I got back - so it came in lightning fast speed. The chicken was cooked perfectly as well - and was hot, moist and piping hot white meat with lots of sauce on it. It was a rather small bit of chicken though... the rice and chip portion were an average size and were cooked okay, the rice being quite hard and chewy.
The staff were pleasant enough but doing as expected.
