Comments - Stand out in our monthly competition! What did you eat? Unique aspects? Parking/transport tips?:

This Nando's is located on Stevenage Leisure Park which is easily found just off the A1(M) and just a few minutes walk from Stevenage Train Station. There are hundreds and hundreds of free parking spaces on the Leisure Park too. A Cineworld and Hollywood Bowl are also here - and Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre, Stevenage Museum and the town centre are all a 5 minute walk away just on the other side of the railway tracks.

As with some of the other restaurants here, Nando's is on its own in the middle of a load of parking spaces. The first thing that strikes you is the big chandelier hanging above the entrance on the outside - which is a bit odd. Inside, on (mostly) three sides are full length glass windows making it very bright inside. Maybe a bit too bright though as all the blinds were down. The blinds are blue, red and yellow so giving a bit of colour inside. The back wall from entering is painted purple with a couple of very small canvas prints. The ceiling is slightly vaulted and wood-paneled - with the lighting made up of either red glass shades or red frilly paper shades.

Being on the leisure park it's quite a big branch. There is plenty of seating inside and a real mix of seating - some large square and circular booths, high seating to the left from the entrance in the windows and plenty of table/chairs/benches.

Overall though, there's nothing that really stands out - and watch where you walk on the outside. You can see where all the pigeons sit as there is a perfect trail all the way round the restaurant of where they poo off the roof...

Staff were actually quite friendly and chatty - I even witnessed one of them run outside to say "cheers guys thanks for coming" when they thought some people hadn't been said cheerio to.

I arrived at about 2:30pm and it was less than half full so there was no wait and the food came in under 5 minutes. Just a chicken burger and chips this time - and I received a nice piece of juicy breast meat, albeit, not much sauce on it and mainly just mayonnaise. The chips were hot and crispy and plentiful. Pretty standard. Friendly staff, quick service and an average setting.
