Can only assume this branch has been refurbished within the last couple of years as it's definitely not in keeping with the 'older' side of Stratford. Ironically, depending on which exit you come out of at Stratford station, this branch is probably nearer/equidistant than the Westfield branch; just go through the Stratford Centre and turn left and it's a couple of minutes down. It's underneath a Novotel.
I was amazed at the branch's appearance, looked nice and new from the outside and good on the inside too. High ceiling, plenty of space to sit for takeaway orders / customers waiting for tables, and terracotta-looking ceiling-floor length pillars that divide the restaurant into two seating sections. A lot different from how the Shepherd's Bush Nando's compares to it's Westfield counterpart.
But that was pretty much as good as it got... There's a table when you enter where a Nandoca should greet you, but no one was there, and there's even a rope-divided queue (like in Westfield) for queuing for the tills - but this also cuts through the walkway making it narrow. Only two tills were open despite a queue to order, with several staff members wandering about aimlessly. Food took a fair while to come, they even came to double check the receipt and apologised for it taking so long. Credit the girl who served me (Babs, I think her name was) but the rest, not so much.
Food was good though; hot chicken burger cooked well and a good amount of peri salt on chips (but could've done with a few more).
