Streatham - Marc Joss Review
When I realised First Capital Connect could take me to Streatham and a Nando's I had never previously visited in 50 minutes, I had to act quickly and check out one of the London Nando's with the fewest reviews since RYN began in 2009.
I saw on our map that the restaurant is approximately a 15-minute walk from the station up the high street which was a nice enough walk on a scorching July afternoon. Curiously enough I passed two KFCs en route to this Nando's. There are clearly numerous chicken fiends in this part of south London!
The staff were very welcoming and a manager whom I had met in Wimbledon on a different Nandventure recognised me which always feels good. There was no queue to order and the food arrived within ten minutes. All of it except my halloumi that is, which took a few more minutes to turn up!
The food was fantastic. Extra hot sauce was dripping off the chicken, loads of peri salt and a generous portion of chips. The rating doesn't get a 5 because I'd have preferred a slightly spicier meal.
In terms of the restaurant décor, it's a small Nando's which is one of the older ones, and you can tell. The good news is that it will be having a refurb in the upcoming months so maybe I'll have to return once it's done to check it out!
All in all a very good Nando's. There's also an Odeon cinema very nearby if you fancy the Nando's & cinema combo.
