Sutton - Damien Review
Sutton Nando's was the 35th to open in the United Kingdom.
We went there mid-afternoon on a Tuesday, and from a promising start (bright, airy atmosphere, cock on a stick, and sangria actually in stock), it started to go downhill.
The main issue was that the food came out very slowly, one person at a time, with long gaps between. Despite his food waiting under the heating hood, and the staff not busy (nobody serving, cooking, nor clearing tables, just all chatting), my friend Lap watched it for a good five minutes before going up and asking, only to be told it would be with him soon. A few minutes, and no activity later, he went up to film his food sitting there going cold, and only then did somebody bring it to the table. Lap's was not the only plate waiting here.
Other than the slow service, the food was pretty good, and rather spicy.
I had a veggie pitta, which is probably the hottest thing I've had in a UK Nando's.
It's just a shame that the staff didn't care a little more, as there was no reason for the service to take so long.
