Sutton - Marc Joss Review
An afternoon flight back to Gatwick from Genoa on a Friday afternoon was a great excuse to check out a new Nando's on the drive back, especially with the M25 choca-block. We chose to go to Sutton which was a relatively simple half an hour away.
We parked at B and Q which was a five-minute walk away and offered free parking for customers for up to 2 and a half hours. We did buy some cacti, in case you were wondering!
This Nando's is rather old and that was our only quibble. It still has old tables and chairs and no redeeming features. Our table was wobbly which was mildly annoying. I'd imagine a refurb could be on the cards!
The staff were fabulous, however. The manager was very happy to chat about Nando's which is always a pleasure.
As for the food, it was magnificent. My half chicken was covered in sauce, perfectly grilled and delicious. My peri chips didn't have as much peri salt on them as I initially wanted, but when combined with the extra hot chicken and my own perinaise (they brought it in a lovely ceramic pot rather than a small plastic one which was great), it was perfect. I was also served the biggest slice of halloumi cheese I've ever seen. My mouth was on fire and the peri-peri taste was lingering for a good half an hour after, brilliant!
I'd fully recommend this Nando's for everything except decor. A refurb would take this Nando's up there with the very best!
