The day had come: free whole chicken day. Had spent the whole morning salivating at the prospect and it was Vauxhall branch which had the honour/misfortune of watching me devour it. It was the first and only time I'd been to this branch since the RYN event dinner, so was interested to see how different my experience would be.
It was a late lunch and the restaurant was full apart from a couple of spare tables and luckily the queue to order had died down. Good banter with the guy serving me as he told me the alternatives to the whole chicken (and I was sorely tempted but stuck with my guns) and that I came at a good time as the place was heaving about 20mins earlier. Food came pretty quickly and the chicken was decent; I've had better, to be honest, but the rest of the meal (including my dining companion's) was spot on.
