Since the last time I went to Vauxhall it was closed for a private do (which was fine as went to the great Clink Street one), I was keen to get back to this Nando's as soon as possible - and today was that time!

This is under the railway arches, so is right by both Vauxhall tube and rail stops - and it also just half a mile walk from The Oval cricket ground, so easily found.

Got here just after 5pm (on a Friday) and was surprised to find it completely empty with at least 10 staff in the little hut/kitchen right at the back seemingly getting ready for a mad rush later in the evening... Anyways, it was a very nice and quiet meal!

The decor is superb and is up there with the best. It's a long and thin restaurant, but still with plenty of seating. Leather benches with tables/chairs running down either side and a set of booths running right down the middle - with a nice old style train interior feel about them. The arch is clad with wood panels and there are plenty of bright lights hanging down from this. Half-way down the restaurant there is also a private room with one large booth in it. It had a mop bucket in when I was there and it's completely covered with purple... so not sure how special a room it is... There's also a nice and spacious waiting area at the front by the tills with some neon Barci's in some greenery - all complete with a revolving door on the front.

The toilets are nice and bright too light blue and yellow decorated tiles - so all in all a very nice Nando's to be in, especially as I had just come from battleship grey Cabot Place.

Staff did everything as expected and brought the food over in under 5 minutes and it was very good. This time I was claiming a free whole chicken - and what a chicken! It was very large and very meaty and cooked superbly - nice and moist and hot right to the bone. Could have had more sauce on it though. The rice and chips were both very decent sized portions and piping hot.
