Vauxhall Arch - Gerry Louis Review
I didn't ask where the food was, but staff were very apologetic due to the length of time I waited. They weren't to know I was second last to order behind about 20+ other people from the RYN 6th Birthday dinner party gang.
The food was great, a bit too much, not that I've ever complained about too much food before. It was probably to make up for the wait. Half chicken (the dry breast ended up as take away), loads of peri chips, nicely singed garlic bread and a toffee gelado to follow, may as well take advantage of the discount. Also was very lucky to win £30.00 worth of gift vouchers via the raffle so only paid 40p towards the feast.
I've been to this branch before, and there isn't much by the way of decoration but they don't need it based on the structure underneath the railway bridge. We sat in the cordoned off section which I noticed there the last time which is/ was quite intimate, a lot of purple and dark hues. The walls surrounding our little cubicle were hexagonal and made the wall 3d with the pattern displayed. A huge purple lampshade above which anyone tall enough could hit their head against, though not me of course.
Nice, friendly staff, the manager greeted us as soon as we entered and offered us a free glass whilst we waited for the hosts to arrive. The only branch I've visited so far with a revolving door at the entrance, there is also foliage in the left hand wall as you enter, it's quite a homely branch. The toilets let the branch down a little which is why it doesn't get a 5, but I suppose who wants to clean the toilets more often instead of serving chicken and keeping customers happy?
