Popped into this Warrington branch on my way back to Brum. It's located in the Old Market Place/Square of the Golden Square shopping centre, so look for the parking for Golden Square and you'll be fine. There's also Cockhedge and The Market car parks a couple minutes walk away. The Golden Square car park is open until midnight too and very reasonable. It seems that none of the car parks take a bank card though, so make sure you have notes or coins.

It's been a while since I've been to Warrington and so arriving at 7:30pm, it was very quiet indeed with the only places of any activity being the restaurants in the Old Market Place. May be different on a weekend though.

It seemed like Nando's and a few other restaurants haven't been in the Old Market Place for too long - and their introduction must have surely been a nice boost to the local economy. The shopping centre as a whole did seem quite run down.

As you walk to Nando's, the first thing you see is a big sculpture of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party scene from Alice in Wonderland. It's nothing to do with Nando's (as it was unveiled 25+ years ago), but the outside seating goes right up to this monument. If you are sat outside, you can pretty much sit at the Mad Hatter's table eating your Nando's! Was certainly something unique!

I popped in around 7:30pm and had a 10-minute wait for a table - followed by a just-under 10-minute wait for the food to come. I purposely made a note of a few names - Hollie, Shaun and Emma. Not just to me but to everybody in the restaurant they all gave excellent service. Always updating people who were waiting on the timescale, quick and efficient on the tills and fully explained everything to people - and always checking that people were okay during the meal. I know that's their job and all, but as we've seen with different reviews on this website you don't always get good service. The fact that this compact site was so busy made this that little more impressive.

The food was really good too - and I got my biggest portion of olives ever - they were towering in their dish. The chicken was moist, very hot and covered in sauce. There was also a full selection of sauces available even though it was so busy and no fewer than 6 Extra Extra Hot bottles :-)

The decoration inside was also good to look at. The front was all glass panelled to allow people to look out and with the counter this only left two walls and the ceiling. The walls each had three large brightly coloured canvasses - and the ceiling had several circular cuttings with six/seven orbs style lights dropped down from each of them (kinda similar to what I saw at Bluewater Wintergarden).

Overall, this was a great Nando's, well worth popping in for a bite!
