Wembley - Designer Outlet - Lemon and Herb Roston Review
The new Designer Outlet next to Wembley Stadium brings a much needed facelift to the area. Sitting beneath a spanky Hilton Hotel the American style outlet village hosts a number of shops, restaurants and a cinema. Although it has been open for a few months, it is not heaving with people...yet. Come Summer, hopefully the area will attract people from far and wide to enjoy discounted shopping from some of the high-streets major chains.
The Nando's sits on the highest level, tucked closely to the cinema entrance. I decided to take a client over from Hong Kong as they didn't want to eat Chinese food. Quiet understandable if you ask me.
The staff were lovely, and although some issues still with the loyalty card when ordering caused beads of sweat to develop on the new team members, the manager came over to sort it out. It was at this point I introduced myself, and asked if they were looking forward to the RYN event happening at the site within the next few weeks. A blank look suggested she had no idea whatsoever; of the event or even of RYN itself. Unbelievable.
Needless to say I explained the situation, showed her the Facebook page and got her excited!
The food was good. Best chips I have eaten in a Nando's for a long time. Cooked to perfection, piping hot and a plentiful portion. The half chicken was a little cold and dry.
I was also fairly disappointed with the ambience considering some recent store openings have gone all out with the interiors. This felt like a Nandos that had been open for 10 years and the Designer Outlet has built up around it.
Hopefully RNY contributory dinner will bring some much needed life and spice to the joint!
