The Rate Your Nando’s reviewer meal marked my second visit to Wood Green Nando’s. The first being five or 6 years ago, there was little that I remembered about this place in terms of food or service. I remembered the layout, but totally didn’t remember that there was an upstairs area. Anyway, we were met at the door and lead upstairs by a very friendly member of staff who asked us how our days had been. Above the standard of regular service, but this is what I’d do, were I in her shoes and knew a whole group of people were here specifically to review you on the internet.

The RYN crew were all lined up on one long table, which had recently been extended, so to include more diners. There was another, smaller group up here sitting on a nicer table with much nicer seats. I wanted that one. When it came to ordering, I managed to be one of the first to the tills. Despite this, my food came out last or second to last, perhaps due to the extended cooking time of the veggie option? Along with my veggie pitta, creamy mash and corn, I cashed in a green reward and got a quarter extra hot. The breast piece that I received was very large and tasty, especially considering what I’ve come to expect from Halal Nando’s.

The company itself was good, and despite once again winning nothing in the raffle, my team of three came second in the Nando’s quiz. The only real downer of the visit was the drinks machines being situated only downstairs. This made refilling a chore. Lots of Nando’s restaurants with a much smaller second level (Lewisham, for example) manage to have a second soft drink machine, so why not Wood Green? Overall, it was a slightly above average Nando’s meal.
