York - City Centre - Pompey Ranger Review
Called into this store on the way north, right in the city centre on a pedestrianised street it was difficult to find parking but opted to park in the multi storey above the Copper gate shopping centre.
Glass front to the store with a amount of crowded seating downstairs where people waiting for tables also wait around and the serving bar. Upstairs is more spread out and leads back though the upstairs maze to the toilets which weren't clean and one of the mens 2 toilets was out of order which made the remaining toilet over strained.
Over a half hour wait to be seated, then a 5 minute wait in the queue to be served and then about 40 minutes before our mains came out. Our plan to have a quick lunch before looking around the shops was turned into a long wait and then a hastily rushed eating and rush back to the car as had only got 2hours. The food when it came out was excellent and very high quality. The staff were freindly other than taking our sauces and trying to grab our cutlery half hour before our food came out. In fact a lot of staff wondering the store. If they managed to speed up their service they would resolve the wait for the tables as well . Plus despite the wondering staff we could have done with a check back from the staff during our meal rather than trying to clear our table before our meal.
