I certainly enjoyed my visit to York Monks Cross Nando's with SVC, particularly after the long drive up from London. Parking was surprisingly difficult in the large outdoor car park right outside, but we did eventually find a spot and trotted inside to find a very colourful Nando's completely packed out at 6:30 on a Wednesday.

We were given a table within 10 minutes and there wasn't a queue to order, but Nandocas were warning customers of a 15-minute wait for food. The food was slightly mixed on arrival, given that my halloumi was nowhere to seen and the chips were possibly undercooked and not showered in much peri salt. The redeeming feature was the chicken, which was cooked to perfection and my spiciest Nando's in a long time! The halloumi was swiftly brought over as my wife enthusiastically constructed a Nando's Christmas Tree out of food (see @RateYourNandos on Instagram) which went down well.

A slightly bizarre feature was the collection of Nando's take-away bags hanging from the ceiling saying 'Your place or mine?', but the lovely Christmas tree with a proud Barcelo sitting on top of it more than made up for that.

All in all, this was a pretty good Nando's considering how busy it was.
