Manchester - Piccadilly - Elliott Waters Review
I decided to visit this Nandos on opening day after seeing the hoardings going up, and eagerly awaiting another location to add to the lunch list.
Entered the outlet, and was greeted in open arms, and shown to a booth table close to the window. Went to order, and was served by a lovely happy staff member who was still in training. Despite this, she navigated my complicated Wing roulette, Rewards card, and gift card order with ease. The food arrived within a reasonable time, Nandos standard, and was piping hot and full of flavour. The wing roulette was delicious, with plenty of spice on each of the wings. The mango and lime ones were delicious, covered in sauce. I'd say the food was excellent, not over-done, but not under-done either. Just right.
Decor is great, the restaurant is on two levels, ground and basement. I only visited the ground, which is wide open, plenty of tables, and a nice long table in the middle. Plenty of Peri-Peri artwork around on the walls, and some rather fancy lights dangling down from the jet black ceiling. The grill and till point is at the rear, and there are plenty of tills for the pending Nandocas. Staff were great, couldn't do enough for us. Considering the first day nerves, they all did really well! Good one Nandos! :)
This outlet is located on Piccadilly Gardens adjacent to the green space, in the former Nobels amusement arcade, next to the new Morrisons supermarket and Travelodge. It is in front of the main bus stops for services to East Manchester, and equidistant walk from both Piccadilly Gardens, and Market Street tram stops. Parking is not available immediately around the restaurant, due to it's city centre location, however ample parking is available around the city, meaning a short walk to this Nandos. Unfortunately, this city centre branch isn't located on one of the free bus routes, in particular the Number 2 Nandos Express, which links the other four city centre Nandos outlets every 10 minutes, but non-the-less is easily accessible by public transport and on foot.
