St Albans - Adam Nicol Review
My girlfriend wanted to show off her hometown branch that she’d told me had awesome décor and good food, so I ventured out of London to visit it! It was quicker than getting to a branch the other side of London anyway. We arrived about 19:30, usually I expect a branch to be packed at this time, but it wasn’t that busy, a few tables empty downstairs and most of the larger upstairs empty, I was informed by my girlfriend that the décor upstairs was more impressive so I had to sneak up there to see. We got seated immediately on a table for two, one immediate thing I noticed is that there was quite a gap between the tables for two, in other recent branches I’ve been to, you’re almost sat on the person next to you, so this was good, made me feel less cramped.
Speed of Service – We got seated immediately since it wasn’t that busy, and we went straight up to order. There was no queue to order so my girlfriend got served quickly, even though she forgot our table number and said 6 instead of 5... I suppose it must get confusing when we go 4 times a week, but we ordered with no problems and were sat back down in no time. The food took just under 10 minutes to arrive, though they’d forgotten to put Peri-salt on my chips so I told the waitress and she immediately brought over the Peri-salt and sprinkled it over my chips, so 4/5 for Speed!
Food – The food was amazing, just as my girlfriend said it would be, I was feeling greedy so I got Butterfly chicken extra hot with Peri-chips and garlic bread, and a half chicken extra hot. I had plenty of Peri-salt on my hot, huge portion of chips and the garlic bread was cooked perfectly, just as I like it. The chicken was the best part of the meal though, it was sooo good, Butterfly chicken COVERED in extra hot sauce, It tasted so amazing I hardly used the extra-extra hot sauce I usually use to save a meal where the chicken is disappointing, and the half chicken breast was hugee so much chicken on it and it was just as tasty as the Butterfly, this was some of the best food I’ve had since York at the start of the month, it was just fantastic, hopefully I’ll get to go to St Albans more with my girlfriend and enjoy this awesome food. 4.5/5 for it!
Friendliness of Staff – The staff were pretty friendly at this branch, certainly no complaints about them from me, the person serving me gave me a shocked look when I asked for extra-hot and he told me how brave I was, this made me feel powerful, like I was the King of Nando’s. The waitress who brought our food over was happy to bring over the Peri-salt when I told her they’d forgotten to put it on, and she asked me if I wanted any more after she’d sprinkled it on. Unfortunately we didn’t get a Thank you as we left the branch, probably because there wasn’t that many staff working and they might not have seen us leaving. 4/5 for Staff!
Décor – It was really clean in this branch and it just had a good atmosphere generally, whilst none of the décor really stood out I was informed it was a lot nicer upstairs, I tried to have a look but was afraid I’d look odd walking around upstairs, It did look nice up there though, the stair case was cool with lights under each step and a nice padded handrail, the toilets were also nice and clean. The layout was downstairs was pretty basic and small, much bigger upstairs in this branch, but it wasn’t busy enough to get seated up there unfortunately, but it was a really nice branch, and I’d image sitting upstairs next to the window with a nice view over the street would be awesome, hopefully next time I go I’ll get to see upstairs and give the décor a proper review! But it’s definitely a 4/5 for Decor!
So overall this was a far above average visit to Nando’s! Fantastic Food and Staff, I will definitely be returning here in the future and hopefully it will be just as impressive as it was this time, 4/5 Overall!

had the same lack of manners
had the same lack of manners riindg public transit in SF. Elderly men and women and ladies my age would always offer me their seat. Very rarely a man in his 20s-50s would. Sometimes I'd "accidentally" stick my belly in his face to hit his newspaper or book and smile at him. It still wouldn't work.On the rare occasion a gentleman did offer me his seat, I always took it. Even if I felt like standing. I wanted him to know I appreciated the offer and to hopefully set an example for other men to do the same.ps: love your hair and lipstick. Always have. How do you eat without getting your lipstick smearing everywhere?!
