Arrived at this Nando's on the Wirral at about 6pm on a Friday night. It's located on The Croft retail park, which means there are thousands of free parking spaces - or Spital train station is less than a mile walk away. There are plenty of shops and eateries including an Odeon on the retail park.

Nando's is easily spotted on the retail park - with its large wooden panelling on the outside and Nando's in bright red. There are a couple of tables outside but when it gets busy, the queue stretches out here and there's no chance the tables could be used.

Inside - there's a high wood-panelled vaulted ceiling that stretches down the whole restaurant. Hanging from this is a lattice metalwork piece that also stretches down the whole middle bit of restaurant - and then hanging from this are some thick beige conical ceramic shades that hang right down to the booths at the front. There are also golden coloured shades on the right/left sides above the tables against the walls. Above the till is a large light-box that has a few ledges on displaying sauces.

Plenty of large, colourful paintings on the walls - and plenty of different shapes and sizes of tables/booths. Toilets are found upstairs at the very back - and were spotless, with the new black/white square tiled pattern and three circular mirrors above the sinks. A solid 4/5.

At 6pm there was just a few minutes wait for the table but by the time we left at just after 7pm there were 40+ people waiting. I guess Woolybacks love their chicken as much as me! :-) However, the food took ages to come... A full 41 minutes later. It is still the opening week, so am sure it'll become better as the staff become more accustomed to the busy periods!

Luckily, the wait was worth it. I was claiming a free whole chicken and also had a large chips and large rice between the two of us. The chip portion was huge and every single one was piping hot and crispy. The rice portion was a standard large size and had been left in the bowl for a while as was a bit cold... but the chicken was delicious! Very meaty pieces, piping hot, succulent, saucy and white meat all the way to the bone! If only the rice had have been hot this would have been perfect!

Staff were friendly, as you'd expect up these parts, but doing as expected especially as it was so busy for them!
