Trowbridge - Ryan Review
Yes! Finally, after having many business trips to various places in Wiltshire - there is finally a Nando's in the county. Just the next one to open in Swindon and who knows maybe one in Salisbury and Warminster and I will enjoy the trips even more :-)
I still can't believe that this rural town - with a population of 30,000, connected by what is barely an A road... can get a Nando's before Staffordshire! Stoke, Stafford, Lichfield, Burton, Newcastle, Tamworth etc over half a million people in those six towns/cities alone - an nowt nando's anywhere me duck!
Anyways, this Nando's is located in the St Stephen's Place Lesiure Park which is in Trowbridge town centre - albeit everything is in the town centre, so is easily found by car and accessible by train with Trowbridge railway station being half a mile walk away. The parking is also free which is great. There is surface parking which is free for 3 hours when you display a ticket and there is also a multi-storey which is free but 2 hours stay max and closes at 6pm. I say 6pm - there were signs on each floor saying "this floor closes at 6pm" (which was odd as there was only one exit), but they were so old and falling apart I don't know if they are still valid. I inhaled my chicken so quickly, I wasn't there long enough to find out.
As you walk down the stairs in multi-storey, you can see the big bright Barci cock on the side of the building. I nearly fell to my knees with joy. There are also six/seven table/chair sets outside - so certainly none of these southerners eating outside in this parky weather.
Inside impressions are good - not the biggest Nando's at all, but about 35 tables all nicely spaced out. Front half is mainly table/chair seating with some booths towards the back. Lots of brightly coloured chairs and tables to go with the brightly coloured walls and a very interesting interesting ceiling display. Lots of wooden stakes all different sizes making a wave effect and lots of glass rod bulbs within these slats making it very bright inside. Lots of canvas paintings and mosaics on the wall spaces too - with a big cooper sink for washing your hands by the shelving units for the sauces. Toilets were also spotless, very colourful with a couple of copper basins in there too.
There were only two other tables in use when I arrived at about 4:30pm, so no wait and the food came in under 10 minutes - and oh boy, was it tasty. A very very succulent breast and leg with beautiful white meat all the way down to the bone. Covered in suace too - and ohhh, my mouth is just watering thinking about it again. The chips were hot and crispy as well and the rice was hot and moist. Delish.
That wasn't the only thing that was tasty either. Very friendly, chatty and easy on the eye girls serving up this sumptuous feast. Pompey Ranger was right - this store rocks!

Just to say, the car parking
Just to say, the car parking is open 24hr in the multi-storey. None of the floors close at 6pm. However some floors do have 23hr free parking - others are more limited. you can always use the County Hall car parks for free after 6pm! They are only one minutes walk away.
I'm glad you enjoyed it too,
I'm glad you enjoyed it too, was a real treat there, even though it was busy when I was in I still got the feeling they were all attentive to me. I think two good reviews from two experienced Nandoers out ranks a bad one from someone who probably turned up on their tractor and has never eaten in a restaurant before let alone a Nandos.
