18th Street - snowcover Review
This was the site of my very first Nando's experience back when it first opened, and I have been back many times, even though several other Nando's have opened closer to where I live. The food and service here are exactly as you'd expect for Nando's, but what sets this apart is the arrangement of the restaurant.
The ground level seating area is a very typical Nando's setup - a row of booths along one wall, with round tables out in the middle. The handwashing basin is located at the very back of the ground level (on the way to the stairway), with the toilets through the hallway and around the corner even further back.
The upstairs area is the gem of this branch - it consists of a fairly small room in the back, which can be adapted as a party room or used as a general dining space, and a long, narrow seating area extending back toward the front of the restaurant, with a long row of booths and a large party table at the end, from which you can see both downstairs and outside. The booths along this narrow area make for excellent privacy, since there aren't any other tables next to them.
As for the surrounding area, there is tons of stuff to do before/after your meal in the West End, Dupont Circle, and Adams Morgan areas. Parking here is impossible, so I highly recommend taking metro to either Farragut North or Dupont Circle stations (they are almost exactly equidistant to Nando's).
