Basildon - Mayflower - Marc Joss Review
A brief job at the West Ham training ground that finished by 1pm left me in a decent position to tick off a nearby Nando's that I hadn't previously visited, and Basildon's newest Nando's certainly met the criteria. A lovely drive with the roof down on a sunny spring day concluded with a parking space right outside this swanky new Nando's and things just got better and better.
A very friendly Nandoca welcomed me in and offered me a couple of bottles of Nando's sauce on the house which was a lovely gesture. I was more than happy to accept two bottles of extra extra hot sauce. There's a range of seating available in this colourful and natural-light filled restaurant.
I ordered half a chicken extra hot with peri chips and garlic bread. I have to say it arrived very quickly and the portion size was rather generous. My only qualm was there could've been more peri salt on the chips, but overall the meal went down very well. My new combination involves one tub of mayo with vusa and another with extra extra hot sauce to mix it up as I go. I have to say vusa is a fantastic addition and it's a different type of hot sauce from the others on offer.
This was a very good Nando's and I can only recommend Basildon Mayflower Nando's to anyone passing through the area. There are also plenty of shops and department stores nearby.
