Basingstoke - Gerry Louis Review
I have nothing bad to say about this branch, they're one of the best and the staff members believe it too. His was a last minute visit and it proved worthwhile. I would gladly go there again and at least look around Basingstoke.
Finished work at half 4, my plans were cancelled and I decided to treat myself to a Nando's. I knew I could get there from Clapham Junction so jumped on the train and 10-15 minutes later I was in Clapham. I had 6 minutes to get the Basingstoke train or wait half an hour til the next one so I was quick on my feet to get out, buy a ticket and get from platform 1 -9 in that 6 minutes.. Luck was my friend that day, 45 mins later I was there.
Short walk over and I reached the branch. The lady at the door had a number 62 shirt on and I noticed everyone else did. Asking Dominika why, she informed me they were the 62nd branch to open in the UK so Nando's has added over 300 since then. The cashier was very friendly with me and on telling her it was my 170th Nando's branch visit she became extremely excited and telling all her colleagues.
Needless to say I was hungry. I ordered a half chicken mango and lime with sweet mash and garlic bread. I also ordered the salted caramel brownie and vanilla ice cream which I asked for first. Got the dessert within a minute and the food followed about 7 minutes later. It was hot, well prepared, plenty of mash which was totally tasty and the garlic bread was also grilled very well.
The layout of this branch is spacious with easy wheelchair access. The cashier had a conversation with me about other Nando's that she went to and she seemed so proud of her branch. She did also tell me that Basingstoke would be getting a 2nd Nando's by 2017 which was nice to know. The decorations are plentiful and the toilets were clean as should be expected. The staff are great at interacting with the customers and it's a friendly, open atmosphere there. Would recommend to anyone.
