Finally my first Nando's in Canada! I came very close back in 2015 with a road trip to Montreal, but strangely there are no Nando's in the French-speaking parts of the country.

I had just arrived after a flight from London, and got the airport taxi to drop me right outside the Nando's, suitcase and all, since it was already just after 9pm by the time I arrived.

I was overwhelmed as the huge Nando's on Bay Street thundered into view. A whole block for just one Nando's! A Nando's lover's dream! The decor at this restaurant has loads of the great features that you would see in the UK: cool artwork, varied seating and interesting lighting. This Nando's takes it even further with authentic beaded African crafts and huge beaded teepees to sit in.

Having arrived in Toronto not long before, and being rather tired after a flight from the UK, I had a bit of time to spare so the opportunity was taken to visit one of the few Nando's that there are in Toronto.

Well Done Bay Street!

Walking in the door I was greeted with big smiles and the warm embrace of the scent of grilled chicken. I started off with the Roasted Red Pepper Dip. I was amazing, great way to kick things off. Then 10 wings, Hot… just phenomenal. Great job guys, I will be back next Wednesday for more.

I've always been a fan of Canadian Nandos. The quality of the chicken is second to none. This Nandos has really become a 'hip hangout' for Toronto's young professionals. The pricing is on par with it's UK counterparts and the feeling of being in a UK Nandos is perhaps more present than some of the other Ontario branches. There is some catching up to do with the loyalty scheme. I was particular disappointed when I couldn't use my UK loyalty card but perhaps I shouldn't have been so surprised!
