I was overwhelmed as the huge Nando's on Bay Street thundered into view. A whole block for just one Nando's! A Nando's lover's dream! The decor at this restaurant has loads of the great features that you would see in the UK: cool artwork, varied seating and interesting lighting. This Nando's takes it even further with authentic beaded African crafts and huge beaded teepees to sit in.
We perished the menu with great excitement and scouted two items that you wouldn't find in the UK: double chicken skewers and chicken sliders. We sat smacking our chops in anticipation and after a 20-minute wait, our skewers and sweet potato wedges arrived. Our sliders were cold and had to be replaced unfortunately. I immediately set about creating a Canadian-themed Nando's food face and I can now proudly exhibit my Canadian moose on the RYN Instagram for all to see.
The manager was delightful. She was extremely positive about the website and was very pleased to answer questions and gab about our love of Nando's and the differences across the pond. We rounded off our meal with a delicious slice of New York Cheesecake. What a great Nandventure to have on one's honeymoon. Thank you, Bay Street Nando's!
