Darlington - Pompey Ranger Review
This new store is part of the new complex around the Vue cinema complex incorporating a Premier inn, Chinese buffet, Bella Italia, Prezzo, Hungry Horse Pub and a Subway. We drove around for a bit trying to find free parking a lot of the locals seem to ditch their cars on waste ground, pavements and other strange locations. The area opposite is hoarding boarded off offering it self off as a potential development site. We eventually parked up under the building in a rather expensive for the north car park that was quite full. From what i remember it was 2.10 for 2 hours.
The store is along the pavement with smoked windows within arches and a very hopeful attempt at seating on the pavement which was a little too narrow to provide an appropriate seating area. Within the store is elongated with a large curved counter and a variety of seating including a few large tables with horse shoe bench seating around them.
The toilets were delightfully colourful and clean with unique stone sink pedestals designed to look like tree logs.
Food wasn't the fastest in the world and we were waiting a bit for it, but was plentiful portioned when it did come out. The chicken was charred on the outside but once I'd removed the skin it was succulent and juicy. Shame I couldn't eat the skin but at least the rest was above average enjoyable and with plenty of chips and piled rice I was well filled and happy with the meal.
